Shadow Play Curated By Anurupa Roy Serendipity Arts Festival

An exploration of the technique of shadow puppets with oral narratives that are told with shadows. As intricate works of craft, illustrators of narratives and metaphors for good and evil are explored. The exhibit includes leather shadow puppets from Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Audience could experience the performances, stories and characters told by master puppeteers of the form and get a hands-on experience of the evolution of moving pictures from shadow to digital animation by playing and dabbling with shadow puppets.
